About the Scheme

What is Niramaya?

Niramaya is a health insurance scheme launched by The National Trust under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. It is specifically designed for persons with disabilities covered under the National Trust Act — including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities. The scheme provides a single premium across all age bands with the same coverage regardless of disability type, making quality healthcare accessible and affordable for every family.

Comprehensive health insurance coverage of up to one lakh rupees per year for persons with disabilities.

No Pre-Insurance Tests

No medical tests required before enrolment. Anyone with a valid disability certificate can apply directly.

Any Hospital in India

Treatment can be taken from any registered hospital across the entire country — no network restrictions.

Ongoing Therapies Covered

Speech therapy, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, and other ongoing therapies are included in the coverage.

Who Can Apply

Eligibility Criteria

Niramaya is available to all persons with disabilities covered under the National Trust Act — which includes children and adults with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities. There is no age bar and no medical test required.

How to Apply for Niramaya

The application process is entirely online. Here is how to enrol your child in the Niramaya scheme.

Check Eligibility

Ensure your child has a valid disability certificate under the National Trust Act and a UDID Card or UDID enrolment number.

Apply Online

Fill in the Niramaya application form via the link below. You can apply directly as an individual or through KLI as your registered NGO.

Pay the Premium

Pay the annual premium online through the National Trust payment portal. Premium amounts are kept minimal to ensure affordability.

Receive Your E-Card

Download your Niramaya E-Card from the portal. This card is your proof of insurance and must be presented when making claims.

Claim Reimbursement

After treatment, collect all original bills, prescriptions, and reports. Submit your claim through the dedicated helpline or portal for reimbursement.
